While a case has been registered against 10 persons, no arrests have been made so far. �Members of the committee feel that the Government might be shielding the culprits.

The Satkar Committee has stated that this heinous crime was carried out by a local family, which is now being protected by the police.� It was stated that the family was upset after Singhs had earlier disallowed them to carry out their “naam charcha” as per the orders of Akal Takht Sahib and the state.
