:dateline:Lawyers For Humanity (LFH) has filed a petition against senior BJP leader and former MP from Amritsar Navjot Sidhu in court seeking legal action against him for hurting the religious sentiments of Sikhs. The organization of lawyers has demanded the saffron party leader be charged under section 295 A and 298 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

It is notable that Navjot Sidhu had committeddisrespect of Gurbani by associating the Gurbani with Arjun, a character of Hindu scripture Mahabharat.

Justice Pardeep Singal andadvocate Mohiner Singh, secretary of LFH, demanded to direct theSSP of Chandigarh to arrest Navjot Sidhu under the charges by filing an FIR against him in Sector 36 Police station. Justice Singal has scheduled the next hearing of the case on December 23.

Prior to this, various Sikh organizations have submitted complaints to take action against Sidhu. They demanded Sidhu be summoned at Akal Takht Sahib.
