Dozens of Indian Origin Men Reportedly Held Captive by ISIS

2014-06-18_isis[article_date]Amid fierce fighting between the ISIS terrorists, Assad Regime and NATO forces, there are reports that at least 40 people of Indian origin are still in captivity in the Islamic State. The majority of the captives  who have not been released by ISIS are of Punjab and Haryana origin.

The news of hundreds of these men stuck in Iraq had appeared earlier this year after ISIS captured Mosul, and other parts of Iraq and Syria to establish the Islamic caliphate.  Since them, the vast majority of the captives were released, however as per recent reports many still remain captive.

Many people who were earlier reported to be stuck in Iraq have fled to Turkey. However, they face refugee status there and have no way to contact their families or the Indian Government.
