Makkar said that the decision was taken by Panj Singh Sahiban (highest presidium of Sikhs) after a�long discussion keeping in view of coinciding the Gurpurab date (Dec 28, 2014) as per amended Nanakshahi Calender with that of the martyrdom day of the Chhote Sahibzadas (younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh).
He said he has�written to Simrati Irani, HRD minister of India, and Parkash Badal, CM of Punjab making them appeal to announce the holiday on Jan 7 in the place of Dec 28.
