BATHINDA, India—Inspecter General (IG) of Bathinda Zone Parmraj Singh Umranangal on Monday claimed that Bhai Ramandeep Singh Sunny had admitted himself as a member of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and bomb like material had been founded from him. CIA staff police presented Sunny in Bathinda court and got permission to keep him in police remand till November 13.

Ramandeep Singh Sunny was arrested by Punjab police on Sunday by terming him a “terrorist” and member of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). Sunny has close association with Baba Baljiit Singh Daduwal.

Incharge inspector of CIA staff Jagdish Sharma said that Sunny was being interrogated by SSP, DIG and IG.

It is noteworthy that Bhai Ramandeep Singh, who is commonly known as ‘Sunny Khalsa,’ is a member of religious organizations of Bathinda but all Sikh organizations of the city are silent over his arrest. Even Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal whom he is linked to has not taken any notice in this regard.

Talking to media persons, Sunny’s grandmother Bibi Rajinder Kaur said that her grandson was entirely innocent and urged government authorities to release him. She also made an appeal to Sikh organizations to come to the fore to ensure his release.

Taking serious notice of the illegitimate actions of the Punjab police, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann strongly condemned the drive of hunting Sikh youths launched by the police. He asked the police to stop its activities of labelling innocent youths “terrorists” otherwise it would face consequences. He announced that his party would launch an agitation against the conspiracies of the police.

Pertinently, Punjab police has arrested several innocent Sikh youths within a week claiming that they are “dangerous terrorists” and members of militant organizations of Sikhs. Human right organizations have strongly condemned the move.
