Derby UK: Rock of Justice Unveiling at National Sikh Museum to Commemorate 30th Anniversary of Sikh Genocide

2014-11-01- rock of justice:dateline:The National Sikh Heritage Centre and Holocaust Museum, Derby,is unveiling a Rock of Justice on Sunday 2nd November 2014 to commemorate the 30 years of campaigning by the global Sikh community for justice for the victims of the November 1984 genocide. For four days across India Sikh men, women and children were butchered by politically orchestrated violence whilst the armed services, the police, foreign observers and the media just stood by.

The rock sculpture signifies continued resolve to seek justice and defiance of the systems and powers that continually thwart all attempts to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The museum has also recently actively increased its collections and now also has a new display to mark the Sikh contribution to the WW1 effort as part of the then British Armed Forces.

The museum is open daily and guided tours can be provided through advance bookings.
