Amrit is Necessary for Fighting for the Social Cause, Says Vikram Dhanaula

:dateline:Vikram Kumar Babbi, resident of Dhanaula (Barnala), who hurled ashoe atPunjab Chief Minister Parkash Badal in a high level function on Indias independence day, is all set to become anAmritdhari Sikh. He has announced that he will go toSri Darbar Sahib at Sri Amritsar along with his fellows to take Amrit from Panj Pyaras (Five beloved of Guru).

Speaking to media reporters, Vikram said, I already used to think about taking Amrit, but after the incident of shoe hurling, I have realized that taking Amrit as per Sikh tenets is very necessary for fighting for the social cause as it makes the man responsible and enhances ones self-confidence.

I am facing apoor fiscal condition and unemployment due to hurling a shoe toward Badal. My wife has been expelled from a private school following the incident, he added.

It is noteworthy that after being released from the jail on bail on September 9, 2014, he has not cut his hair and has started to wear a Keski (small turban).
