AMRITSAR, Punjab, India—In a joint operation between the SGPC and the Punjab Police, 9 women have been arrested for theft in Sri Harmandir Sahib. The women were spotted on the CCTV cameras, which eventually led to their arrest. They were seen stealing belongings of pilgrims who had come to visit Sri Harmandir Sahib. The women were allegedly caught with 10,000 rupees, 15 mobile phones, expensive clothing and purses. They were initially caught by the SGPC but were later handed over to the police for further questioning.

The pickpocketing incident happened with me & sisters these two women came from behind & noked on my sisters purse but both my sisters got warned & took care of their belongings, But they were really shocked with this incident harimander sahib is the holiest place for us Sikhs it’s our maca it’s our Vatican City we have to protect it at what ever the cost.
