Simranjit Singh Mann’s Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) to contest Haryana Assembly poll

KARNAL, Haryana—The Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) led by Simranjit Singh Mann, has resolved to contest the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. The party has planned to field its candidates on about 20 seats, where the party has a considerable support.

Jaswant Singh Mann, secretary-general of the Sikh nationalist party, told media persons that the party had decided to contest from Ambala City, Ambala Cantt., Jagadhri, Yamunanagar, Chachrouli, Ladwa, Thanesher, Kaithal, Pehowa, Guhla, Shahabad, Nilokehri, Karnal, Assandh, Gharaunda, Indri, Sirsa, Fatheabad, Saffidon, Jind and Gohana.  He stated that SAD (A) could perform well in these constituencies.

Ajit Singh Kahlon, incharge of Haryana unit of the party will announce the list of candidates on September 20.

About a poll alliance, the SAD (A) secretary-general said: “We are inviting all parties having the same ideology. We are in touch with like-minded parties.”
