NEW DELHI, India—A Sikh driver named Ranjit Singh, 60, has been assaulted with acid by some unidentified men here. As per sources, the the assailants who reportedly belong to the Hindu community, cut his hair forcibly and burnt his Auto-Riksha.

The victim, who is a resident of the Bhogal area, has been admitted to the trauma section of Safdarjang Hospital in Delhi. As per sources, his condition was stable. Various Sikh organizations have strongly condemned the brutal attack that left religious sentiments of Sikhs injured.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), Paramjit Sarna led Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi), Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), United Sikh Movement, and Seva84 staged a protest outside Nizamudin police station against police for not taking any action in this case. They accused the police of not registering a case against the perpetrators.
