Former Pakistan President Condemns Murder of Sikh

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—Former Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, who is the co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), has condemned the growing incidents of violence against members of the non-Muslim communities in the country.

Zardari is seeking proper measures to curb growing fanaticism and extremism against non-Muslims in Pakistan.

The former president stated that he was shocked and grieved that yet another young trader belonging to the Sikh community had been stabbed to death mercilessly in Peshawar on Saturday. He called for arrest of the assailants and bringing them to justice.  Sikhs, Hindus, Christians and others continue to live in vulnerable conditions in various parts of Pakistan.

“PPP has always, and will continue to raise powerful voice against grave injustices done to members of the minority community and will do everything possible to protect their honour, life and property”, he said.

Asif Ali Zardari prayed for the soul of the deceased and also sympathized with the members of the bereaved family.
