:dateline:The Valley Bridge that was constructed just four months ago�was swept�away when water from JP Barrage was released on Saturday evening.
No tragedy was reported, as protective measures were taken a week ago after cracks were witnessed�on the bridge. �Local authorities had stopped usage of this bridge due to the cracks.
Last year when the�Uttrakhand mishap happened, the original bridge to Hemkunt sahib was destroyed. �Since then this was one of the alternate bridges�that has been used by Sikh pilgrims.
Sikh jathas�have expressed disappointment over lack of dependable bridges that cause delays in Hemkunt Sahib yatra.
Note: Even though this bridge was destroyed, yatra to Hemkunt Sahib has not come to a total halt. �An alternate bridge is available for the pilgrims.
