Bhagwant Mann Expresses Grief Over Mistreatment of Female MPs in Parliament

NEW DELHI—”Yesterday I opposed the railway budget in the Parliament and told the Speaker that the budget seems to favour private companies,” said Bhagwant Mann.

Bhagwant Mann expressed shock over the fact that private companies were mentioned as part of the budget. He questioned “why some companies were named over others, and asked for the railway budget to be taken back.”

He further alleged that two BJP MPs shared abusive remarks with female MPs of Trinamool Congress (TMC) yesterday in the Parliament. The TMC MPs Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Saugata Roy have alleged that a BJP MP was allegedly drunk in the Parliament and verbally abused them. They alleged that the BJP MP threatened to “strip and beat them”.

Bhagwant Mann alleged that he witnessed the BJP MP threating other Members of the Parliament, and alos stated that if women are not safe in the Parliament, where else would they be safe?
