:dateline:The separate Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee for Haryana could finally be a reality soon. Its official announcement is likely to come at the conference which is being organizedin Kaithal, Haryana, on July 6. The conference is being organized jointly by Didar Singh Nalwi and Jagdish Singh Jhinda, two senior leaders in Haryana who recently joined together on the issue of Haryana committee.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda has already announcedto be present at the conference. The decision indicates that the government is now ready to deliver its promise made in the 2004 Assembly elections.

As draft for a separate Gurdwara Committee is ready, the government is expected to call a session of the Haryana Legislative Assembly to seek its approval. The session is expected to be held in the first fortnight of next month of July.

The venue for the conference has been shifted from the grain market to the local stadium given the large numbers expected to attend. However, leader of the ad-hoc committee maintain that the venue has been chosen due to the security concerns since the SGPC and the Shiromani Akali Dal (B) have continued to oppose the plan.

Didar Singh Nalwi said, We are hoping a big gathering which will be addressed by the Chief minister and cabinet Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala, among others. Many religious and political leaders will also attend.

Nalvi added that the government announcement will have to be followed by a session of the Assembly. After new states were carved out of Punjab, the provision for a separate Gurdwara committee for Haryana was also made. Parliament delegated the authority for its creation to the Haryana Assembly, that is why the House will have to pass itbefore it can become official, he explained.
