AMRITSAR SAHIB—Chief of Damdam Taksal Jatha Bhindran (Sangrawan) Giani Ram Singh Khalsa has stated that if the Indian government has no ability to give proper treatment to Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara who is detained in Tihar Jail Delhi, Damdami Taksal will bear all expenses of his treatment. He warned the government in straightforward words that if they would not do so, he will also file public interest litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court.
Taking a jibe at the government’s attitude, he said a man was in critical condition physically and the government was making excuses for giving him medical treatment.
“Bhai Hawara is a asset for the Sikh nation and we will not allow his health deteriorate any further. Not giving treatment to him is a clear violation of the human rights and the nation that always pray’s for Sarbat Da Bhala (Well being of Mankind), would not tolerate this. Such inhuman attitude tells us that the Indian government considers the Sikhs as citizens of second class”, he said.
Giani Ram Singh has just arrived in Punjab after finishing his missionary visits to Italy.
When he was questioned about Sikhs in Italy, he answered that Sikhs residing there had been shocked a lot by the clash held at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on the 30th anniversary of June 1984 holocaust.
