Oxford University Handbook Includes Research by Punjabi University Gurmat Sangeet Professor

:dateline:Punjabi University Senior Professor and Gurmat Sangeet scholar Dr. Gurnam Singh has been given recognition in the Oxford Handbook of Sikh Studies.

The handbook recognizes work of a number of Sikh intellects, as well as renowned personalities, including publications�by non-Sikhs.

Dr. Gurnam Singh’s research paper focuses on Gurmat Sangeet, as he is an established professor of the subject. �He has released a number of recordings in Gurmat Sangeet, to propagate the lost tradition. �Inclusion of his work by the Oxford University has been appreciated by his colleagues at the Punjabi University.

Dr. Gurnam Singh currently serves as the Professor and Head of the Gurmat Sangeet Chair and Department of Gurmat Sangeet at at Punjabi University Patiala. �He is also a Senior Fellow at Sangeet Natak Academy in New Delhi.

He�has published many books, research papers, documentary films, and with the grace of Guru, for the first time, he has presented a complete recording of 31 main Raags forms mentioned in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib for the students, researchers and listeners of Gurbani.
