:dateline:Captain Amarinder Singh, newly elected MP from Amritsar Sahib, has alleged that a United Nations (UN) Investigation into June 1984 Indian Army Invasion of Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) is not necessary. He stated that everything is already known about the old incident and Sikh Groups organized worldwide should not push the UN for an independent demand. The statement by the CongressMember of Parliament (MP) has come after Sikh organizations have been commemorating the June 1984 Sikh holocaust worldwide at large scale events.

I do not know what international agencies are going to do here. This is a 30-year-old incident. It was 1984. What are they going to probe now. Everything is recorded. Everything is known, said Capt. Amarinder Singh while speaking to the media outside Indian Parliament.

Amarinder Singh also denounced the violent incidents that took place at Darbar Sahib complex yesterday.

Along with the Congress MP, Akali Dal leaders are also criticizingpossible UN probe in the 30 year old incident. Ironically, seniorShiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader, Prem S. Chandumajra said that Sikhs do not even need assistance from the Indian Government. He said if there was a need to punish anyone, the case should first be filed with Akal Takht Sahib, and that the UN, or Indian Government should not interfere in Sikh affairs.
