Fresno Sikhs to Address Widespread Bullying Across Schools in California and Nation

18133_main:dateline:Recent news of widespread bullying of Sikh students in Fresno, California, has left many in the community worried about their children.� As per a survey titled �Go Home Terrorist � A Report on Bullying Against Sikh American School Children” 2 out of 3 Sikh children are bullied at school in Fresno.

To tackle this problem, local Sikhs are organizing an�Open Forum Discussion at Fresno State University on�Thursday, April 10, 2014.

The event will take place from 5:30pm-7:00pm at Alice Peters Auditorium (5245 N. Baker Ave, Fresno CA 93740).� All attendees are requested to park legally.� Parking will be free with code 269415.

Simran Kaur, representative of The Sikh Coalition, along with Jim Yovino, Superintendent, Fresno County Office of Education, will be addressing the problem.� Local community members and students are also expected to share their opinion.

Many Sikh families are expected to take part in this forum that is open to everyone.� Bullying of Sikh students is prevalent in all parts of the country, however it is very rare to see it being addressed.
