Phoolka Writes to Badal to Stop False Propaganda Against Him

Phoolka

LUDHIANA, Punjab—Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Ludhiana Advocate HS Phoolka has written a letter to Chief Minister Parkash Badal to complain about the false, and baseless, allegations being leveled by some elements at the instruction of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) against him in connection with the cases of 1984 Sikh Genocide.

In the past couple of days, puppets of SAD (Badal) under the banner of ‘Danga Peerat Welfare Association’ have alleged that S. Phoolka has withdrawn the case against Jagdish Tytler who is one of the main culprits accused of Sikh genocide. S. Phoolka is in strong position in the Lok Sabha polls, and is a big challenge confronting all other candidates contesting on the seat including the SAD candidate Manpreet Ayali.

Alleging that it was a conspiracy to malign his name, S. Phoolka has written that it is being done to distract him from his election campaign.

The complete letter  is  given here:

To
S. Prakash Badal,
The Chief Minister, Punjab
Chandigarh.

SUBJECT: False Propaganda Being Spread by Your Party

Respected Badal Sahib,

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh.

It is a matter of deep concern, and regret, that your party either under your ,or your son Sukhbir Badal’s instructions, has launched a completely false, and malicious, propaganda against me with regard to my selfless work for the victims of the 1984 riots. Your party has had reports printed in newspapers stating that I have withdrawn the case of the main accused in the 1984 riots, Jagdish Tytler. It is also stated that a witness in the case, Jasbir Singh, was to come to India for recording his statement on April 3, 2014. These statements are completely false and baseless.

Jagdish Tytler was given a clean chit by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and his file had been closed. I filed a petition in court on behalf of victim, Lakhwinder Kaur against the clean chit given by CBI and we won that case. The case was reopened by ADJ, Anuradha Shukla renouncing the CBI’s clean chit and directing the CBI to continue their investigation against Tytler. Tytler then filed an appeal in the High Court against this decision, however, we argued the matter and ensured he is not given any stay in the case. The next date in case is April 17, 2014.

It is to be noted that when till now CBI’s investigation is still ongoing, and the challange has not yet been filed, no witness can be examined. Thus the statement about Jasbir Singh’s statement to be recorded on the 3rd of April is completely false. Your party is continuously imputing completely false allegations on me, riddled with white lies. You have the whole government, the SAD party, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) at your disposal, and you are using these one way, or the other, to make baseless, and false, allegations against a person who has dedicated his life to a social cause for the Sikh community, that too completely selflessly, without fear, or favor. You have yourself honored me many a times, and have always told me that my name will be written in golden letters in Sikh history for my commitment to the cause of the Sikhs.

It is so disheartening that today, your party, and cronies, are putting false allegations to malign me, in stark contrast to your appreciation for my work, and commitment all these years. This is a deep rooted conspiracy, and strategy, of the SAD to malign me on daily basis with a view to distract me from my election campaigning and upset me. This is a new low your party has stooped to, only to interfere in my campaigning. TV channels and newspapers, virtually on your pay roll, are propagating these false statements on your instructions to mislead people, and furthermore, are either not carrying my version of events, or barely giving it any importance, thereby giving a one sided story. The SAD has indulged in notoriety of a new kind by this malicious propaganda.

You are a Sikh. You carry the pride of the Turban. You represent, as a Chief Minister, the home of the Sikhs, Punjab. I know that you also do Paath. I wonder then how your faith, and conscience, allows you, Sir, to indulge in this false propaganda. If you are a true Sikh, I urge you, to at least instruct your party member to seeks your permission, and direction,s before spreading completely false statements about me, and my relentless struggle for justice. I am prepared to, and would be happy to, answer any questions raised by you. In the past 30 years, I have fought relentlessly, and fearlessly against the powerful accused Congress leaders, and not charged any fee for the same. I have many times stood alone in this struggle. In the process, I have risked my life, and my family’s life as well, for the cause. But now, just because I am standing in elections, a furor of lies is being thrown at me by your party. I earnestly request you to not use this issue, one so close and sensitive to every Sikh’s heart, as political mileage, and take all steps to ensure that this false propaganda against my work, and me, stop immediately.

Thanking you

Yours sincerely,

H.S. Phoolka
