CHANDIGARH, Punjab— The move by Manpreet Badal, chief of the People’s Party of Punjab (PPP), to form an alliance with Congress, so disgusted the chief’s key aide, comedian-turned-politician Bhagwant Mann, that he has quit the PPP.  Bhagwant Mann has instead decided to join Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party.

Bhagwant Mann was the senior most leader of PPP, second only to Manpreet Badal, and considered as his close ally. Mann’s resignation resulted in a significant loss for Manpreet’s party, which has been gradually declining.
