:dateline:The Aam Aadmi Party has listed multiple prominent Sikhs as its candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Namely, Journalist Bhai Jarnail Singh and Senior High Court Advocate HS Phoolka are two Sikhs who will be contesting the upcoming elections. Jarnail Singh is standing from West Delhi constituency while HS Phoolka is contesting from Ludhiana.
The upcoming elections will be interesting to follow as both of these Sikhs are renowned for their Panthik efforts however they hold little experience in politics.
Akali Dal Badal Attempts to Marginalize HS Phoolka�s Nomination
Soon after Aam Aadmi Party made a public announcement of HS Phoolka�s nomination from Ludhiana, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal resorted to cheap tactics and alleged that S. Phoolka had charged huge sums of money from Sikh organizations to fight cases for victims of 1984 Sikh massacres.
S. Phoolka has publicly challenged Sukhbir Badal to prove his allegations or otherwise quit his post as Punjab Deputy Chief Minister. S. Phoolka alleged that if these allegations are proven to true, he would not contest the elections.
Former IAS May Contest Elections from Bathinda
Gurtej Singh (Former IAS) from Bathinda may be selected by the Aam Aadmi Party to fight for a Lok Sabha constituency against Bibi Harsimrat Badal. The former IAS officer has been in the limelight recently for a set of letters he had published exposing secret correspondence between the Akali Dal and Centre Government.



Gurtej Singh’s name is well known within Panthik circles as well. �Although he is a renowned thinker, he has received much criticism from Sikh masses living worldwide for having supported the ex-communicated Kala Afghana. �Gurtej Singh (IAS) received heavy criticism and anger from Panthik bodies after he made derogatory comments against the bani of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Although at this point Gurtej Singh’s nomination has not been announced by the Aam Aadmi Party, there have been rumors that he could be one of the Lok Sabha candidates. �In addition to Gurtej Singh, Bibi Nirpreet Kaur may also be a likely candidate for the Aam Aadmi Party.
