Roop Singh from Leeds becomes Latest Quarter Millionaire at Deal or No Deal

LONDON, UK—Singh is the second ever male quarter-millionaire in the show’s eight year history

Deal or No Deal has crowned its latest quarter millionaire – Roop Singh from Leeds.

The 54-year-old played a brave game on the Channel 4 show, having just £5, £100, £500 and £1000 in his other final four boxes.

Roop said of his win: “The night before my game my daughter quite innocently said ‘Dad, I want confetti’.

“When I was offered £46k all I could think of was ‘Dad, I want confetti’ and I said ‘No Deal’.

“I still cannot fully remember what happened next but I do remember the confetti and everyone hugging and congratulating me.”

The only bad news for Roop came in the shape of additional box 23, which could have won him an incredible £500,000!

He is the second ever male quarter-millionaire in the show’s eight year history, the other being 18-year-old Patrick ‘Paddy’ Roberts from Wigan, who won the top prize in August 2013.

Since his win, Roop says he has bought a few presents for his family and friends and a bike for himself, so he can cycle the coast line of Britain later this year.

He also plans to donate money to the charities he supports.

But it’s safe to say the real winner in this is still Noel Edmonds’ beard, which is surprisingly still going strong.
