Bhai Khalsa said, I ended my fast after the Jathedar promised me he would initiate measures for the permanent release of the Sikh detainees. He should not betray the trust placed in him. The responsibility for the release of the detainees lies with him.

Talking about his future strategy he said, If adequate measures for ensuring permanent release of Sikh detainees would not be taken, I will have to struggle again. In this regard, we have invited suggestions from Sikh congregations.

In this struggle, Giani Gurbachan Singh will also have to join the movement–because after his assurances, we ended the fast, he added.

Meanwhile, Bhai Lakhwinder Singh, who is languishing in Burail jail in connection with the CM Beant assassination case and was freed on parole last month, paid obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib. His parole is also about to end.
