Punjab police had made tight security arrangements under the directions of SP DS Mann for Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara’s court appearance. Entire court complex was turned into police cantonment. Police men in civil dress and intelligence agencies were present on the occasion.
Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara appeared in rising spirits. After getting out of the special bus of Delhi Police, he took great pleasure having glimpse of Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib from a distance. Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib represents sovereignty and freedom for Sikhs and Bhai Hawara paid his respects and sought blessings from Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Police kept family members and journalists from meeting Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara. Bhai Hawara’s court appearance was kept a secret. Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara was brought from Delhi in connection to the Bhaniarawala case of January 10, 2005. A bomb blast had taken place at Dera Bhaniarewala situated in Village Dhimana.
As per his lawyer, Advocate Sarbjit Singh, Bhai Hawara had opposed the order of his production through video conferencing before magistrate on ground of technical obstructions. He reportedly had demanded proper arrangement for his production before the court.
