Struggle for release of remaining Sikh prisoners to be continued, says Bhai Khalsa

Mohali (December 29, 2013) – Bhai Gurbakash Singh Khalsa whose persistent efforts in form of unprecedented hunger strike culminated in release of four Sikhs on parole, announced that release of mere four Sikh was not end of his struggle, but it was its dawn, because many Sikhs are still behind the bars in various states.

D181489376After marking Martyrdom day of Chhote Sahibzade at Fatehgarh Sahib, Bhai Gurbakash Singh Khalsa arrived at historical Gurdwara Amb Sahib, where he thanked Guru Granth Sahib for success of his morcha and hold a meeting with members of Bandi Sikh Rihaii Committee namely Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema (SADPP), Bhai R.P. Singh (Akhand Kirtani Jatha), S. Gurnam Singh Sidhu, Bibi Kulbir Kaur Dhami, Bhai Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad (AISSF) and Advocate Amar Singh Chahal, in which the matter of permanent release of Sikh political prisoners was discussed.

Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema said, “Legal process has been started for permanent release for those Sikh prisoners who got released on parole. Papers in this regard are ready for being submitted before home secretary.”

“A special seminar will be conducted on second week of January for the release of all those Sikh detainees who have completed their jail terms, in which Sikh scholars, lawyers and intellectual personalities will be invited, added he.

Bhai Gurbakhash Singh said, “At first, his hunger strike was not taken care but in last ten days with the pressure of Sikh panth, authority took action and release of 4 Sikhs could be made possible.”
