:dateline:It has been learnt that the Punjab Government officials have visited Bhai Gurbaksh Singh in the Ropar Jail expressing their concern over the hunger strike.� Bhai Gurbaksh Singh has been asked to stop fasting as his health is worsening.
It has been alleged that Bhai Gurbaksh Singh�s demands cannot be met.� As reported by the press, �The demands raised by S. Gurbaksh Singh fell within the purview of different state governments, Union Territories and Government of India and require �consideration by them.�
Bhai Gurbaksh Singh has been told that his approach is not going to work and he should stop fasting.� Government officials asked him to cooperate with the Government and,��not disturb the hard earned peace.�
It should be noted that Bhai Gurbaksh Singh had used only peaceful means to address his concern for Sikhs lodged illegally behind bars despite having completed their sentences.
