There are around 26,000 Gurdwaras in Punjab state alone but the Government has been able to build only 13,340 primary schools in the state. The value of these would be not less than Rs. 35,000 crores of money.

69% of the rural households do not have a matriculate and we say Punjab lives in its villages!

We as a community have failed our children! We have locked most of the community resources impassive investments in Gurdwara buildings, lavish Langars, Golden Palkis, Marble Layings, Expensive Rumala Sahibs and what not — All symbols of our own ego manifestations.

Sadly, in the Learning Outcomes, Punjab is ranked 34 (out of 35 States and UT). In literacy rankings, we stand at rank 21 compared to the earlier no. 1 in 1970.

We need to create walking and talking Gurdwaras in the form of kids enshrined with Gurmat values.

It’s time to wake up friends! Youth has to stand up and sensitize all local Gurdwara Management Committees.
