Depictions of Guru Sahib Removed from Los Angeles Bar and Restaurant

LOS ANGELES, California, USA—A bar and pub in the city of Hollywood, near Los Angeles, California has removed the depictions of the Gurus.  As reported by Sikh24 earlier, pictures from the bar were found to display depictions of the Sikh Gurus throughout the bar where alcoholic beverages are served.  Sikhs are members of a peace loving religion founded 500 years ago in Punjab, now located in Northern India.  Consumption of alcoholic beverages is forbidden in the Sikh religion.

After persistent advocacy done by the United Sikhs International Civil and Human Rights Advocacy (ICHRA) Team, Pikey Bar and Restaurant has removed the portraits of the Gurus from their establishment.

United Sikhs extended its gratitude to the management of Pikey Bar and Restaurant for being understanding of the sensitivity of the matter and for acting upon our request in a timely manner.   In a message posted on their fan page, they thanked all supporters who signed the petition as well.
