ACQUITTED: Shaheed Bhai Kamaljit Singh’s Assassins

:dateline:A Sangrur based local court has acquitted over a dozen followers of the cult Dera Sacha Sauda who were involved in killing� Shaheed Bhai Kamaljit Singh (Sunam).� Additional Sessions Judge Varinder Aggarwal announced the acquittal of 14 dera followers for lack of evidence.

Bhai Kamaljit Singh was killed on May 17, 2007 in cold blood by followers of Gurmeet Ram Rahim, a self-styled Godman.� The incident took place when these mobs attacked Sikh sangat on their way back from Takhat Sri Damdama Sahib.� Followers of Sacha Sauda had uttered blasphemous remarks to the Sikhs and a peaceful protest was held to seek apology from the Sacha sauda leaders.

In response to the protest by Sikhs, the cultists pelted stones at the Sikhs and also threw glass bottles filled with petrol and acid.� The incident took a violent turn when some Sacha Sauda followers opened fire and killed Bhai Kamaljit Singh and left another Gursikh named Bhai Balbir Singh injured.

The Additional Sessions Judge Varinder Aggarwal alleged that it could not be proved that Shaheed Bhai Kamaljit Singh was fired upon by any of the accused.� The elderly father of Bhai Kamaljit Singh, Bant Singh, alleged that he would move the Punjab and Haryana High Court.� After the killing of Bhai Kamaljit Singh, Bhai Bant Singh had said that his son had become a martyr of the Sikh Nation.� A portrait of Bhai Kamaljit Singh has been installed at the Central Sikh Museum at the Darbar Sahib complex in Amritsar and has been seen in other Gurdwaras around the world.

  1. It is money makes mare go, the CULT has money they paid the Judge as in most of the cases in India. Our family members are corrupt specially Amritdharies and Khalsa who suck the congregation funds to support their families and establish business.

    Please ask honest question while you tie the turban in front of mirror every time, where our institutions donations are hidden or embezzled? If you do not get answer then we�re THUGS not SIKHS.
