:dateline:After having stood strong with Bibi Nirpreet Kaur in her fast to justice, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has now constituted a political wing to address issues faced by the Sikh community. The five member committee was constituted by AAP this past Monday.
As per a statement by Arvind Kejriwal, AAP leader, Sikhs who were affected in 1984 have yet to receive justice. He stated that Sikhs have been used solely for the purpose of votes in the past by other political parties and despite having played an important role in the development of India, no justice has been given to the Sikhs.
Although much remains to be known about the actual motives of AAP, having a Sikh cell could potentially resolve growing issues faced by Sikhs India. However the same promise has been made by other political parties, including the ruling Congress and its rival BJP who have failed to address issues relating to the Sikh community and punish the culprits of the third Sikh genocide and Government sponsored Sikh pogroms.
It should be remembered that Arvind Kejriwal had earlier apologized for a derogatory remark passed by Kumar Viswas. While speaking to Journalist Jarnail Singh, Kejriwal alleged that Viswas was not an AAP leader when he had uttered blasphemous remarks against the Sikhs. Jarnail Singh alleged that although Viswas has apologized unconditionally, it would be difficult to erase these cheap comments from your memory.
