NEW DELHI—Three key eye witnesses in the case against Sajjan Kumar have been alloted 24 hour policy security.  The order was passed last week by the Delhi High Court which asked the Delhi Legal Services Authority to ensure safety and protection of the witnesses against Congress Leader Sajjar Kumar.  Kumar is responsible for the mass killings of Sikhs after the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for her war crimes.

Witnesses Sheela Kaur, Popri Kaur and Joginder Singh were granted 24 hour police protection.  These witnesses have continuously faced death threats telling them to not testify in the case against Sajjan Kumar.

In another blow to the ruling Congress party, the High Court has refused to grant bail to Captain Bhagmal for his role in the 1984 Sikh pogroms.  Bhagmal was sentenced to life imprisonment along with two of his associates for the massacre of Sikhs in New Delhi.  The decision to reject his bail application was taken by the Bench of Justice PK Bhasin and Justice VP Vaish earlier today.
