:dateline:The following update was shared by the Sikh Organization for Prisoner Welfare on the condition of Bhai Pal Singh’s health:
On Monday, the SOPW (India) Team went to visit Bhai Pal Singh who is recovering after an operation on his thigh, at the Guru Nanak Hospital, Amritsar. Bhai Pal Singh has been diagnosed with skin cancer around the area of a wound that was inflicted by torture whilst he was in Police custody.
Our team reports that he is making a good recovery and like a true Gursikh, his spirit is in Chardi Kalla. On behalf of SOPW and the Sangat, we pray that Waheguru will bless him with a full and speedy recovery.
Bhai Pal Singh was arrested first when he was doing humanitarian work in villages across Punjab, trying to raise awareness against drugs and for Sikhi principles.� With Bhai Pal Singh�s dedicated and determined worked, many of Punjab�s youth that he came in contact with gave up drugs.� He was dedicated to helping a new generation of Sikhs in Punjab.
This somehow alarmed the Punjab Government and led to the unwarranted arrest and detainment of Bhai Pal Singh.
