:dateline:Following the issue of Punjabi farmers facing eviction from the Kutch region of Gujarat, the North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) has written to US President Barack Obama and senators not to consider granting a visa to Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi.
Expressing strong concern and resentment against the attempts of the Modi government to displace Sikh farmers, who had settled around five decades ago in Kutch, NAPA president Satnam Singh Chahal said they have also urged Obama and senators to declare Modi as a communal figure and black list him in US.
“Concerted efforts to evict the Sikh farmers once again reflect communal politics of Modi. There is great resentment among the Punjabi community in North America about the uprooting of Sikh farmers from Kutch. Our community is of the view that this is the real communal face of Modi as he is not ready to accept any minority,” Chahal said, adding that silence of the Gujarat CM also proved his anti-minority attitude.
The NAPA chief said it was ironic that despite media reports highlighting concerns of Sikh farmers and statements by Akali leaders, there has been no response from either Modi or any spokesman of Gujarat government. “Even the BJP high command is silent on this important issue, which involves the question of survival of a thousand farmers, who toiled hard to make the barren land fertile,” he alleged, adding that the BJP unit of Punjab should answer the people of the state and Punjabi diaspora on the issue.

This is the same judicial system that acquitted all the senior congress members involved in the Sikh genocide of 1984. Being cleared by a court/courts,supreme court in india means nothing whatsover. The entire system is riddled with corruption! So we are to believe that Modi is innocent because the indian legal system cleared him? So we must also believe that Tytler and Kumar are innocent too? Clearly the Sikh massacres of 1984 where carried out by Pakistanis who very deviously passed themselves off as Congress workers… Modi is clearly innocent in the same way that a young single women is completely safe after dark in Delhi, which is a very safe city for women, we are Indian, would we lie?
why do not these intelligent Sikhs write to the District magistrate of Gandhinagar to revoke Modi’s passport. If Modi can visit Amritsar, I do not see why Sikhs shud have a problem if Modi visits USA. For Sikhs, is USA more of a holy place than Amritsar

So tell me what has to do with some legal problem with Sikh farmers has to do with 2002 riots. And for once, stop defaming Indian court systems which already gave Mr Modi a clean chit. Btw, I don’t understand about USA visa as a bar for someones identity of being as Secular persona. USA itself is a key responsible for genocide of thousands of people in the middle east, so please don’t preach that getting USA visa is kind of a certificate of Secular identity. I can understand Muslims being agitated with the man, but it is very rare these days any Sikhs are getting mistreated and especially in Gujarat(being Gujarati i know this better than you).
If you really want to convey the discrimination against Sikhs than try to go vocal against our very own Congress party which is directly responsible for the murder of thousands of Sikhs in 1984 riots. So, stop being so ignorant and biased.
