PATIALA, Punjab—Sikh24 has learned of Gurbani sacrilege case in Punjab.  As per unconfirmed reports, in a Gurdwara Sahib situated at Guru Tegh Bahadur Colony near Rajpura, an unknown person was accused of entering the sukhasan room and tearing the angs (pages) from Guru Granth Sahib.

The Head Granthi Kawaldeep Singh said that he was the first one to notice that the rumalla sahib from 4 saroops of Guru Granth Sahib were removed and the angs from one of the saroops were torn. He said that whosoever has done it, has performed an outrageous crime.  Kawaldeep Singh reported the matter to the Gurdwara committee members, who then reported the matter to police.

According to police sources the sacrilege was done when arguments were going on between the members of the Gurdwara committee. The Gurdwara had elected a new party which was a recent issue of contention.  No one noticed the suspect entering the sukhasan room when intense bickering was going on between the two parties.

The police are making efforts to catch the accused as soon as possible.  A case has been registered under section 295 A on the complaint of Head Granthi and Secretary of the Gurdwara sahib.
