:dateline:The trend of getting Gurbani lines tattooed on body parts has been strongly disapproved of by Akal Takht Sahib. �This declaration has been made following complaints against famous Punjabi actress Neeru Bajwa who recently got tattoos of a Siri Sahib as well as Gurbani lines engraved on her forearm.
Previously, Mandira Bedi and some other film stars were also involved in a similar controversy and were summoned by the Akal Takht Sahib. Film stars are prone to follow such activities for the sake of getting popularity and media attention.
Giani Gurbachan singh has announced that getting gurbani engravings on body parts is showing disrespect to Gurbani and a strict action would be taken against any person performing such activities.
The matter will be given serious consideration in the meeting of 17 June to be held a Akal Takht Sahib.
Historically and according to Panthik norms, tattoos are against gurmat in general, but placing gurbani tattoos on body parts which are prone to get dirty or be in dirty places is extremely disrespectful.
In response to the criticism by Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, Neeru Bajwa has apparently apologized for her wrong doing.
