German Sikhs Remember 1984 Sikh Genocide Victims

demolished_Akal_takhat:dateline:Sikhs in Koln, Germany organized an Akhand Patth ceremony to commemorate the �martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the June 1984 �genocide. The sangat performed ardas for panthik unity as well as prayed for the release of various Singhs who are in jail.

Kirtan was performed by Bhai Sohan Singh and Bhai Tajinder Singh Khalsa from Punjab and highlighted the role of numerous �sacrifices in Sikh history. Addressing the sangat, Bhai Resham Singh Babbar said that the youth today are proud of their rich culture and have a strong foundation laid down by the sacrifices of shaheeds. On a similar note Bhai Sohan Singh Kang (President SAD Amritsar) in his speech tried to reinforce the principle of Khalsa as fighting for the oppressed sections of society.

Gurmeet Singh Ghanian who is the the President of Sikh Federation in Germany said, “It is the duty of the Sikh community to support the families of martyrs of 1984 �in any possible way. The organization of these functions is just a reminder for us to perform our duty.”

The former head of Babbar Khalsa Germany Jathedar Satnam Singh Babbar labelled the June 1984 Genocide as an unforgettable and tragic incident.

Bhai Harpal Singh performed the duty of stage secretary and thanked the sangat for their presence.
