UK Sikh Sangat to Honour Bhai Hawara, Prof. Bhullar

WILLENHAL, UK—A special program is being organised by the UK Sikh Sangat for the chardi kalaa of Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara and Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar.  Prayers will be held this month for Bhai Hawara, Prof. Bhullar and all jailed Sikh prisoners who have served the Khalsa Panth.  The program will be held at Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Willenhall, UK on May 19.

As we go about our daily lives, birthdays, weddings and other special occasions are often what we look forward to yet we may easily forget those Sikhs that have made enormous sacrifices and as a result have never enjoyed what we would consider to be just a normal day for around twenty years.

In the coming days it will be the birthdays of both Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara and Prof Davinderpal Singh Bhullar, but unfortunately both of these courageous brothers will not be able to celebrate as the rest of us do. But there is no doubt that on such days in particular they may reflect on why they are being so severely punished, just for being good Sikhs and adhering to and practising what Sikhi teaches us.

With this in mind there are a number of samagams being held for Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara and Prof Davinderpal Singh Bhullar to honour their huge sacrifice around their special days. Please show your support by attending any one of the samagams that are being held for them and all jailed Sikhs and show them that despite our busy lives they are never far from our thoughts.

We humbly request that nobody mark the birthday occasion with cakes and balloons etc as this is a time only for reflection, thoughts and prayers for their chardi kala.

Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara’s birthday is on 17th May and Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar 26th May.
