First Sikh Nominated to Pakistan Provincial Assembly!

LAHORE, Pakistan—Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora has been elected as a member of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) in the Pakistani Punjab Provincial Assembly. He is the first Sikh member in the country to be nominated to such a post.

This move by the Nawaz would help address various issued faced by minority communities in Pakistan.  Arora has accepted the time period of 21 days assigned to him for joining the post of provincial member of the Muslim league.

Ramesh Singh is also the General Secretary of the Pakistan Gurdwara Parbhandhak Committee and Chief Executive of a volunteer organization named MOZAJ Foundation. He is also an active member in Pakistan National Minority Commission.
