Sant Seechewal Requests Manmohan Singh’s Attention Towards Dirty Waters of Punjab

Sant_Seechewal:dateline:Famous environmentalist Sant Balbeer Singh Seechewal�met the Prime Minister expressing his concern over the increasing contamination of the historic Kali Bein river. The river runs in Sultanpur Lodhi and is considered historical by the Sikhs due to its association with Guru Nanak Dev Sahib.

Sant Seechewal�said that main purpose of the meeting was to bring to notice of the government about completion of the undergoing project which aimed at the�cleanliness�of the polluted rivers of Punjab using a budget of 2200 crore till 22 November 2011, the project has not been�completed�yet.

During with meeting with the PM,�Sant Seechewal�shared the historic importance of the Kali Bein and requested his immediate attention. �This is a great step by a Sikh saint and environmentalist as rivers of Punjab are being polluted day by day. � He also shed light on the�the Kala Sanghya drain, Budha Nala, Chitti Bein are other prominent rivers which are also highly polluted and require immediate action by the government.

At this�moment, a book published by the Ik Onkar Charitable trust that addresses the issue of polluted Punjab waters was also presented to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
