Dr. A.K. Thukral, Director of Research presided over the valedictory session. Dr. H.S. Chopra, Librarian of the Bhai Gurdas Library welcomed the chief guest and others.
All delegates that participated in this seminar were of the view that a database of all the manuscripts in Punjabi should be prepared, which are scattered throughout India and more than six hundred manuscripts that are available in European countries, USA, Pakistan, Samarkand etc.
They were also of the view that manuscripts with individuals and religious places may deteriorate within a few years if attempts are not made to save these. They said that destruction by invaders, internal disturbances and tropical conditions are responsible for the deterioration of manuscripts and need to be checked.

Director, National Museum, New Delhi; Dr. Balwinder Kaur, Head, Punjab Historical Studies, Punjabi University Patiala; Dr. Karam Malhotra; Dr. Saroj Bala; Dr. Kulwinder Singh all from Punjabi University Patiala; Dr. H.L. Bawa, Muktsar; Prof. Raj Kumar Hans from M.S. University of Baroda; Dr. Dharam Singh; Dr. Rajwant Kaur; Dr. Asha Narang; Dr. Amritpal Kaur; Prof. J.S. Sabar; Dr. Balwant Singh Dhillon all from Guru Nanak Dev University were the main speakers.
