:dateline: A pregnant mother is in jail tonight, charged with killing her own mother-in-law. CBS13 was at their home in Yuba City where investigators were searching for evidence in this bizarre and chilling case.
Deputies say Baljinder Kaur snapped, but they won�t say what caused it.
Due to give birth in January, Baljinder killed her mother-in-law in a violent attack Wednesday, say deputies.
�A very intense investigation, with DOJ, forensics and latent prints,� said Sutter County Sheriff�s Dept. Spokesman Capt. Lewis McElfresh Jr.
Baljit, 68, died from blunt force trauma to the head in a Sikh-dominated Yuba City neighborhood.
�It�s shocking to our community because our community is a peace-living community,� said Swinder Gill, who lives nearby.
Investigators were still inside the family�s home gathering evidence after the arrest. Some family members walked out with them.
Baljit was found dead inside the home by her own daughter. Next door neighbor Ken Fickas says his wife heard the frantic aftermath unfold.
�She had heard some whaling and screaming, someone hysterical next door,� said Fikas.
Baljinder has no known criminal history. She and her husband have a 5-year-old daughter.
�I don�t think this person�s even had a traffic ticket to be honest with you,� said McElfresh.
Despite her clean record, Baljinder is still in jail alone about to give birth, and facing a murder charge.

I have a question for Jas- when all of this was happening the nail biteing incident, wht were you doing? Cant u move up to that gursikh and requested him not to practice such thing. If there is something wrong in community we need to talk abt it and discuss and educate each othr at same time. Todays problem is this that we r busy in making fun of each other. U r so ashamed of your guru that u have also removed the name singh from your full name. This itself shows how much u respect your guru. You cannot comment on Amritdharies atleat they have balls to follow the word of guru ;I, and I have seen lot of white ppl doing the same thing, so that mean they also are best fitted to live in jungle. Only Waheguru has blessed me wisdom not Amritdharis, but Amritdharies have let me down in every respect, everywhere and every time. I was at San Francisco International airport on 10/30/12 and witness as follows:
Amritdhari young man (in Western clothes noticeable) biting his finger nails with teeth and spitting on floor for 20 minute. At international stage various community members are observing and analyzing respect for various religion and culture members and posses for rest of their life. None of Punjabi family member pointed out that he must refrain at public place, as 40 Sikh community members were present including 4 of his own family to board China airline flight. Amritdharis are fit for Jungle living as per their habits not for civilized society until they develop commonsense and learn manners. Retired professor and teacher are witness. I�m praying every second to Guru Ji: Please bless commonsense to Sikhs otherwise they will continue degrading Sikh on International stage. It is very easy to lose, but very difficult to regain the lost respect. God has given us brain, Guru Ji is our teacher, we must follow his teachings.

I do not why, but my heart is not accepting it. It could be a conspiracy against her(Baljinder). How about the abuse against her (sister-in-laws, brother-in-law,…and everyone). I think this woman needs to tell the truth….it might save a lot of women who r also suffering like her…i could be wrong…
your wrong i know the family, the daughter in law did no work in the house poor mother in law was forced to all the work like cooking and cleaning. She just hated her whole mother-in law family since she came from india.
