—After having lead the long and lone battle against the Indian justice system, father of Shaheed Bhai Kulwinder Singh (Kid) has left for Gurpuri. Pita, Bhai Tirlochan Singh will forever be remembered by the Khalsa Panth for leading the struggle for Sikh Human Rights. Bhai Sahib, retired principle, continued the battle without much support and total negligence by Indian Justice.
At the age of 20, Bhai Kulwinder Singh was illegally picked up and detained by Police from Phase 5, Mohali on July 22, 1989. According to witnesses present with Principal Tirlochan Singh, his son was eliminated in a fake encounter and was cremated by the Punjab Police in Sohana on July 24, just two days after being kidnapped from Mohali. Police proclaimed Kulwinder Singh’s body “unidentified” and cremated it without notifying his family.
After continuing to fight the injustice, Principle Tirlochan Singh was met with a huge blow as the CBI acquitted the police officers involved in the killing of his son on “benefit of doubt”. Clear evidence present in the case was totally neglected during court hearings. Wife of Principle Tirlochan Singh passed away due to depression.
