LONDON, UK—Sunday, August 5th 2012, would have been a normal morning in Wisconsin, United States but ended in great tragedy for the Sikh community when a White supremacist [terrorist] opened fire and went on a shooting rampage killing 6 people in total before being shot dead by police.
The incident [terrorist attack] not only impacted the local Sikhs Oak Creek, WI, but left the entire Sikh Nation in a state of shock. In addition, what appalled the Sikhs living across the world, especially in the UK was the lack of media coverage of the inoperable shooting tragedy. The news was picked only by a few agencies, and even those that did, failed to provide due coverage of the incident.
While it can be an understatement that shootings of such is not new to the United States where owning a gun is no crime and gun crime actually plays a huge role in the American society; news of such shootings reaches British media in minutes of it occurring. Such news are classed as ‘Breaking News’ on national channels such as the BBC and SKY News.
Being a Sikh and living in the UK since birth I am appalled at the lack of media coverage that the British media failed to provide to the tragic shootings of innocent Sikhs in their place of worship, a place where they go to find peace and solace. In fact it’s quite insulting for the Sikh community who has contributed largely to the United States and England.
While it can be understood that Communities have been susceptible after the 9/11 attacks, I don’t believe that we should be living in constant fear of being hated and attacked by American assailants being mistaken for Muslims. If the shootings at Wisconsin was not a racist attack then I don’t know what else to class it, the nature of the attack has still not surfaced and I feel greatly insulted by the British media who brushed such a tragic attack under the carpet while 9/11 took over news channels globally in seconds.
the reason is simple: the stupid sikh channels which always fire against the indians.How can sikh channel justify the human bombings in India.This channel is not a sikh but it is a satan channel.
That’s why the uk govt is getting the wrong impression and uk main stream media is staying away from sikh events.After bombing by human bombers in london , the uk government is no longer going to favor or promote people who are involved in these activities.So these so called sikhs need to wake up.

They praise him all the times and no where this channel has bothered to interview victims relatives of chandigarh bombing.
If you lecture that chandigarh bombing was fair then that means muslims justify 9/11,london bombings,etc.
No eu /western/american govt will support this and these people will bring only bad name to the community.

100% agree with you. some of these people accuse indian govt not to interfere in sikh matters. and then they run to indian ambessdor for help when some shooting happen. turn on their radio you will hear all the hatered speech against indra gandhi, hindus and india.
