Akal Takhat Jathedar Demands Probe in Gurdwara Demolition Case

:dateline:After immense pressure from Sikh Jathebandis, the appointed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib has finally spoken against the misdeeds of the Radhasoami dera. While speaking to the press, Giani Gurbachan Singh asked the State Government to probe the demolishing of the Gurdwara Sahib in Waraich village this past week. This comes after the Radhasoamis forced various villagers to sell their houses. In the process, they also destroyed the Gurdwara building which served local residents of the village.

Giani Gurbachan Singh asked the Shiromani Akali Dal (B) to launch a probe and punish the criminals responsible for destroying the Gurdwara Sahib. He alleged that this act was unpardonable and those responsible should be brought to justice.

The Jathedar appreciated the peaceful protest staged by various Sikh organisations after the incident. Namely, the Dal Khalsa, Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee and Sikh Student Federation, along with local residents of Waraich, had staged the protest for several hours to oppose the move by Radhasoamis. The protesters denounced the move by the Beas dera as the Gurdwara was built on Government land and was wrongfully sold by the local panchayat.

Ultimatum by Panthik Jathebandis

As per a statement by Bhai Balbir Singh (Mucchal) of Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee from Gurdwara Baba Bakala, if the Radhasoamis do not rebuild the demolished Gurdwara, all deras belonging to the Radhasoamis in Punjab will be demolished.

The meeting was attended by various other Panthik Jathebandis who expressed grief over the demolishing of the Gurdwara. Notably, representatives of Dal Khalsa, Ek Noor Khalsa Fauj, Shiromani Akali Dal Panch Pardhani and Amritsar were present. These organisations gave an ultimatum to the Radhasoamis to rebuild the Gurdwara Sahib and return the seized land.

  1. Indian National should klnow that a place of worship is regarded sacred if you have been living in HINDUSTAN.

Madands and Babas are creating friction in the sikh society by taking such actions.

Govt. of India is should take action and uphold Law. If there is any Law in India for Minority Communitee.

Sikh are only 2% of the Indian population.

  2. I’m shocked to see such aggressive reactions from some Sikhs, it’s not about land worship. Ultimately Bani is shabd, not spoken or written or tied in with bricks and mortar. God is everywhere, we should remember that and most important God is in you and he can see all that we are doing. There is no attack on anyone or religion in this case here, we should be clear on the facts. May God forgive us.

  3. It is ‘sad and shameful’ that someone felt they could sell a Gurdwaran in the first place. Radha Soami are not at fault, it is the person selling the Gurdwara that is a t fault. They have put a price on a place of worship.
The Sikh community should be questionning why they did not get permission before selling a Gurdwara, rather than attacking Radha Soami.

Once land is bought the owner has full right to do as they feel best, it is no-ones right to obstruct them. It is the seller’s fault!!

The Sikh community should have a law against selling places of worship, until this is done, no-one can accuse anyone, as no law is being broken.
