:dateline:All India Sikh Student Federation (AISSF) appealed to Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib to confer “Panth Ratan” on Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale instead of bestowing Panth Ratan on a political personality Parkash Badal. Throughout his political career Badal has continuously defied principles of Sikhism for political gains. So much so, that to fulfill his political ambitions Badal has unceremoniously removed last two Jathedars of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, Bhai Ranjit Singh and Giani Joginder Singh Vedanti.
Recently Parkash Singh Badal has launched former police officer Mohd. Izhar Alam as SAD (Badal) candidate, who is notorious for torturing and killing Sikhs, and has welcomed BJP leader Advani who openly supported military action on Sri Harmandir Sahib in June 1984 resulting in demolition of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and death of thousands of Sikhs. Citing these anti-Panth actions, AISSF President Karnail Singh Peermohammad declared that Parkash Singh Badal is the most unworthy personality for Panth Ratan.
According to President AISSF, “Panth Ratan” should be bestowed upon Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale as Akal Takhat has already declared Sant Bhindranwale as “Shaheed” for laying his life to uphold the honor and principals of Sikhism. Sikh Panth holds Shaheed Sant Bhindranwale as an icon for Sikh nation’s struggle for right to self determination and separate identity of Sikhism. Only a personality like Shaheed Sant Bhindranwale is worthy of Panth Ratan and not a controversial political personality like Parkash Singh Badal who has no contribution to cause of Sikhs and has only exploited the emotions of Panth to gain votes, added Peermohammad.
While urging Taksal chief to support Panth Ratan for Shaheed Sant Bhindranwale, Federation urged Sant Harnam Singh Khalsa to sever his unholy alliance with SAD (Badal) and instead follow the honorable footsteps of his predecessor Shaheed Sant Bhindranwale by taking forward the struggle for Sikhs right to self determination. Federation President Peermohammad appealed the Sikh community around the world to write letters to Sri Akal Takhat Sahib urging Giani Gurbachan Singh to confer Panth Ratan on Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
Fulfilling the aspirations of your heroes is itself Panth Ratana
A determined Struggle for self determination with all efforts directed towards its achievement will be the brightest Panth ratan to shaheed Sant Jarnai Singh Bhindranwale.
