India Accepts Pakistan’s Call to Finalize Agreement on Kartarpur Corridor; Pak Officials to Arrive in India on March 13

NEW DELHI, India—Warmly welcoming the Pakistan’s initiative on Kartarpur corridor, the Indian government has accepted the Pakistan’s call to finalize the agreement on Kartarpur corridor. A delegation of Pakistani government is expected to arrive in India on March 13.

On January 21, the Federal Government of Pakistan had officially asked the Indian government to finalize the agreement on Kartarpur corridor while sharing a draft of the agreement with India through the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. The proposal for facilitating access of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib to the Sikhs residing in India was scripted in this draft.

The Pakistan government had nominated its Director-General (South Asia & SAARC) Mr. Mohammad Faisal as the focal person to talk about Kartarpur corridor issue and had requested the Indian government to appoint its person.
