AMRITSAR SAHIB—A Sikh youth has died in Dubai after he spent almost a month in Iraq with a critical illness.  The youth had apparently become sick and was not able to seek proper treatment for almost one month.

The dead body of the youth was brought to the New Delhi airport. His parents came here from Amritsar and shared their story.

The youth was not given any kind of medical treatment for 20 days, and then finally the authorities arranged for his travel. Without having any kind of medical care, he was forced to board the plane. He was admitted to a hospital in Dubai on June 23 and he passed away at the hospital on July 8.

His parents have expressed anguish over lack of efforts by the Government in bringing  back  Punjabis stuck in Iraq. They alleged that the Government was only playing politics over the Iraq issue and were not doing anything concrete to help bring back the people back.
