President of Surrey Gurdwara Attacked in Jail

SURREY, BC, Canada—Baldev Kalsi, the President of Brookside Gurdwara in Surrey who has been charged with attempted murder after viciously beating his wife, was attacked by another inmate while he awaited trial at the Surrey Pretrial Center. The other inmate has so far only been describes as a 42 year old Surrey male by the RCMP. Meanwhile at the Gurdwara where he served as President, an Akhand Paat Sahib has been started for the recovery of his wife, who is in critical condition. Baldev Kalsi was unable to attend his trial hearing due to injuries he suffered after being attacked.
