12 Dead Afghan Sikhs Cremated in Jalalabad

JALALABAD, Afghanistan—Dead bodies of the 12 Afghan Sikhs, who were killed in a bomb blast in Afghanistan’s eastern city Jalalabad on July 1, were consigned to the funeral pyre on July 2. The dead bodies were handed over to the victim families by the Hospital authorities after identification in the morning hours. Later, the dead bodies were kept in the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar of Jalalabad where the victim families and local Sikhs had reached during evening hours of July 1.

As per the information collected by Sikh24, the names of the 12 dead Afghan Sikhs who were cremated are as follows:

  1. Avtar Singh Khalsa
  2. Ravel Singh
  3. Amrik Singh
  4. Mehar Singh
  5. Inderjit Singh
  6. Baljit Singh
  7. Taranjit Singh
  8. Anoop Singh
  9. Narinder Singh
  10. Manjit Singh
  11. Satnam Singh
  12. Raju Singh

The dead body of bomb blast victim Vicky Kumar, who belongs to the Hindu community, was also cremated along with the dead bodies of Sikhs.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that some of the injured victims are in extremely critical condition and are being given best medical facilities to get bring them out of danger.

Sikh24 has learnt that the attack was carried out with a focus on Sikh convoy headed by S. Avtar Singh Khalsa. Only those three cars were targeted by the suicide bomber in which the upcoming Sikh parliamentarian S. Avtar Singh Khalsa and other leaders were travelling to meet the President Mr. Ashraf Ghani.
