ਮੂਰਖ, ਬੇਸਮਝ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਝਾਣ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ, ਨਿੰਮ ਅੰਬ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਬ ਨਿੰਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪੱਕਾ ਕੇਲਾ ਝਾੜੀ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਰੀਅਲ ਦਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਫਲ ਸਿੰਬਲ ਨਾਲ (ਲਗਾ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ)!

Message: The endeavours and efforts which bring bitter and unpleasant results (neem fruits) seem to us sweeter and pleasant (like mangoes). Conversely, we think that sweet positive fruits of life (ripe bananas and nariyals) can be obtained from unhealthy and unproductive activities or means (thorny bush and barren Silk cotton tree).
We try to savour the essence of virtue through the practice of vice. How is that viable? Only ignorant and foolish people can expect that.
Remain awake and aware or you might be carried away by your ignorance. Be wise and humble to recognise and relish the positive fruits of life. The essence of divinity and life is like sugar spilt onto the sand. An elephant (an ignorant and arrogant person) cannot pick it up. An ant (a wise and humble person) will pick up and eat it fairly easily.
Etymology: From Sanskrit naarikel (nariyal, coconut plant or fruit) → Pali naaliker → Prakrit ṇaali-er/naari-el.
